Creative conservation
Two birds— one invasive species removed.
Created using buckthorn— an invasive plant originally brought to the U.S. to create impermeable hedges— this material benefitted the local forest preserves from which it was removed, as well as beautifying the Forest Preserves Headquarters in Oak Park.
This work was created in collaboration with sculptors Joshua Lantzy and Jamie Topper as the collective Transit Studio.
